Lab Manager for Infant Learning and Development Laboratory, University of Chicago

We seek a full time lab manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a research program investigating social cognitive development and social learning in infants and young children. Our laboratory-based research projects recruit behavioral experimental methods, EEG and eye-tracking, imitation and other behavioral paradigms with infants and young children. We also study the factors that support the emergence of infants social cognition, in particular, the information that infants glean from their own experience as intentional agents and in their collaborative interactions with others.

The lab manager will be responsible for conducting and helping to oversee experimental procedures, coding behavioral data, managing data files,and conducting analyses. The lab manager will be responsible for interacting with families and infants who visit the lab, conducting informed consent and debriefing procedures, and maintaining the laboratory's established human subject, hygiene and safety procedures. The lab manager will recruit and supervise undergraduate research assistants, and will work both independently and as part of a team with post-doctoral researchers and doctoral students. This position is especially appropriate for candidates who are interested in pursuing graduate studies in developmental psychology.


The position is available immediately and candidates are preferred who can begin by January 30, 2017.
