Hello friends! My name is Emily and I'm one of the co-presidents for this year. I'm in my 4th year double majoring in psychology and linguistics. Libraries scare me so I can usually be found in the MPSA office or the nearest coffee shop. Currently, I'm applying to grad school to be a speech therapist and I'm hoping to be able to do transgender voice therapy in the future! If you have any comments/questions/concerns about the psyc department or want to grab a beer sometime feel free to hit me up on Facebook!

Greetings fellow psych friends! My name is Gabrielle, but you can just call me Gaby (or anything other than Gabrielle), and I'm beyond stoked to be one of two NTC Coordinators for this academic year! I am currently a U3 student majoring in Psychology with a double minor in Behavioural Science and Sociology. I originally enrolled into Psychology with the interest of working with adolescents with anxiety disorders, but the tables have turned and now I'm hoping to pursue research and teaching in human sexuality! Don't hesitate to reach out if you need any help, advice, or even just a study buddy!

My name is Sofia and I am so excited to be one of your Co-Presidents this year! I am a U3 student in my fourth and final year as a Psychology major with a double minor in Marketing and Behavioural Science. My dream is to become a Clinical Psychologist in the future to be able to treat patients and do research in mood disorders and their genetic expression. My tip for any McGill student is to believe in yourself always and to not give up. Just as you have faced challenges in the past, you will get through them and get stronger with time. Feel free to reach out for any comments, suggestions or to get to know you better! I can mostly be found in the Schulich library or the MPSA office :) Have an amazing year!

Hey Boos, my name is Bobbie de Wet and I am your VP Communications for a second year! I love ma job.  I am in my LAST YEAR at McGill (through no lack of blood, sweat, and tears). Psychology is my major and I have a double minor in Communications and Sociology. Fun fact about me... I actually go to the University of Victoria AT THE SAME TIME as I go to McGill (online) and I study PR. I decided to study Psychology because my dad is a Clinical Psychologist and he told me not to do it, so obviously I had to spite him. I'm currently in the process of applying for my Masters in Cyberpsychology so there's no end in sight for my academic suffering. My McGill pro tip: discover the magical powers of Super Sandwich in the Centre Cartier behind Bronfman - it's soul food.

Hello everyone! My name is Ella and I’m your U2 Representative for this year. I’m in my third year double majoring in psychology and economics. I got drawn to psychology because I love learning about why and how people make choices, so after my studies I plan on working in a field related to behavioural economics. My McGill / Montreal tip for students: Chef On Call. Curly fries with garlic mayo. That is all.

Hello! My name is Vaishnavi (or Vishu) and I'm the journal coordinator for this year. I'm in my fourth year majoring in psychology with a minor in international development. Within the field of psychology, I am drawn to early intervention and non-profit mental health work, specifically in disadvantaged communities. I also really love the work behind publishing, such as editing and layouts/graphic design. Can't wait to see y'all in the journal launch party in the winter!

Hello! My name is Gaiana and I am your VP Finance for the 2018-2019 school year. I am currently in my fourth year majoring in Psychology and minoring in Sociology and Behavioural Science. After I am done with my undergrad, I would like to go into grad school to study Industrial and Organization Psychology which is a field in business! A tip that I can give to all McGill students is to remember to take time for yourself to relax. Self-care is very important especially when we are all in such a high stress and intensity place!

Hi guys! I am Mahima and I am your VP Science for the 2018-2019 year. I am in my third year, majoring in Psychology. I chose to study psychology because I find it fascinating how so many different factors work together to affect our brain and behaviours on a day-to-day basis. I find the department so wholesome at McGill. Also I really like the new building so y'all should come visit our office and check it out :) a tip: don't be afraid to experiment with your major, you only get the chance to do it now. I spent my first year as an Anat major and if it weren't for my impulsive switch to Psych, I would probably be miserable right now.

Hi everyone! My name is Effie and I'm NTC coordinator. I am in my last year majoring in Psychology and minoring in Political Science. I was inclined to study psychology so that I could later on help people. I've been involved in research as well but come to realize that's not so much for me. My tip for you is to try to stay on top of your classes from the beginning of the semester because things pile up so quick and it can be overwhelming. However, don't forget to treat yourself too, we all deserve a break!

Heeeey everyone, I'm Mariam and I'm your VP Arts! I'm in my 3rd year at McGill, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Behavioural Science. Still pretty clueless about what my second minor is gonna be, so if you want some company in your angst/someone to figure out your life with you can usually find me at our office, Redpath, or the Arts Lounge!! As VP Arts, I'm in charge of organizing events targeted towards Psychology students in the Faculty of Arts, and I basically serve as the liaison between AUS and MPSA. I've been drawn to Psychology for as long as I can remember, mostly to therapy, and I plan on working with children and adolescents after I graduate. I think its super important to always keep in mind that no matter how lost or uncertain you may feel at university, we're all just trying to figure out what we want to do and where we fit in, and things will always work themselves out if you take them step by step and never be too hard on yourself!!! Im super excited for the coming year and to meet all of you, feel free to contact me or drop by office hours whenever!

Hi everyone! I'm Karin and I'm so excited to be your U3 Representative for this year! I am in my third year majoring in Psychology with a double minor in Management and Behavioral Science. I have always been very curious and passionate about the human mind, behavior and mental health; so studying Psychology and using it as a tool to understand and help other people has been my dream since childhood.  I am hoping to pursue graduate studies in either clinical or industrial psychology (long story, really).Things can go wrong, times can get stressful but just try to stay motivated and dedicated; take one step at a time and don't be afraid to make mistakes -that's how we learn best. And most importantly: Share! Talk to other people, ask for help when you need it; and remember that you are not alone in this experience. Don't hesitate to reach out or drop by office hours. Wishing you all a very happy and successful school year!

Hi there! I'm Amanda and I am beyond excited to be your VP Academic this year! I'm starting U2 with a double minor in behavioral science and sociology and planning on pursuing graduate studies in forensic psychology. As of now, my interest in the field is quite broad but it would ideally involve me working as both a researcher and clinician—developing effective rehabilitation programs for criminals in hopes of reducing reoffence rates, exploring the complex world of interviewing/eye witness testimony, doing trial consulting and evaluations. The best advice I would have is to get involved on campus as soon as you can. McGill can be difficult to acclimate to, regardless of your year of study, and finding your "place" on campus can be quite overwhelming. Volunteering allows you to not only take your mind off classes and meet like-minded people, it also gives you the key to unlocking your strenghts and getting the most out of uni! Here's wishing you a great 2018-19 academic year and feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or just need to chat.

Hi psych friends! My name is Leora and I’m your VP Internal this year. This is my fourth year at McGill studying Psychology and Life Sciences because I love learning about the biological basis for how we think/feel/act. In the future, I’d like to work in neurology or do research related to psychiatry and mental health. My tip for everyone at mcgill is try to talk to Profs! You will thank yourself later. Feel free to message me with any questions/just to say hi!

Hey there! I’m Mia and I am so happy to be your VP External for this year. Currently in U2, I am majoring in psychology and double minoring in political science and behavioural science. The more I discover about the vast field of psychology, the more I seem to be drawn to the complexity of mental and personality disorders. As of now, I wish to complete my studies as a clinical psychologist, preferably dealing with a younger clientele such as children and teenagers. However, I choose to remain open to anything else this field could lead me to, which is what introduces the advice I would give to any McGill student. I know it can be reassuring to have a plan about the future, and it is excellent to have one! But I would suggest to try and keep an open mind, and to understand that it’s okay if not everything goes exactly as planned. Put your mental health first, do things for yourself, and try and enjoy this beautiful experience day by day. You got this!
