Currently going into her third year as a psychology student in the faculty of science, Maya is very excited to be serving as the MPSA’s VP Finance for the 2023-2024 academic year!

In addition to holding an executive position on the MPSA, Maya is also TEAM Mentor for courses PHYS 101 and PSYC 305. From working directly with students, she has gained a passion for improving the academic experience for both science and psychology students at McGill. In her role as the MPSA’s VP Finance, Maya oversees the finances of the MPSA and performs tasks such as compiling the annual budget.

Over this past summer, Maya interned at a social impact creative advertising agency where she was responsible for aiding in coordinating a variety of campaigns, many relating to mental health and wellness. She hopes to integrate this experience into her executive position at the MPSA when managing the financial aspects of many of the MPSA’s projects.

Relevant Experience

2022 - Current

Assistant Crisis Director for McMUN/SSUNS

2023 - Current

VP Internal/Inventory for McGill’s Fencing Club

2023 - Current

VP External/Finance for McGill’s Canadian Studies Association of Undergraduate Students (CSAUS)

Existing as a third-year student, Dymetri is looking forward to dealing with the coming issues for this year.

Since joining the Psychology department, Dymetri has persistently aspired to increase student-to-student and student-to-teacher interactions, often feeling as if there was a profound lack of community.  He has also wanted to increase the amount of communication between the Psychology undergraduate body and the department so that students have a better understanding of what’s going on and feel that they can get involved in what’s happening.

As VP of Academics, Dymetri is responsible for dealing with any academic issues that might arise during the year, whether class-related or acting as a liaison with the Psychology Department. He also attends the monthly Arts, Science, and Psychology faculty meetings to keep up-to-date on the academic affairs of the university and its associated constituents.

Principally, Dymetri looks forward to gleaning what changes students want to see in the MPSA and the Department and getting them involved in the decision-making process.
